When trying to access a content link for archived or deleted content requests, your students will see an error message. To make it easier for the Library to know whether the request has been archived or deleted, the messages are slightly different.
Deleted content request error message: This content has been deleted. Please contact your lecturer / library for more information
Archived content request error message: This content is currently not available. Please contact your lecturer / library for more information
If the link has been archived, you can use the URL to find out which content request this URL is linked to. To do this, do as follows:
- Download your HEI report for the current academic year
- In the URL, look for the ID.
- In the above example, the ID is bbd13a56-aaa4-e911-80cd-005056af4099. In the HEI report, search for this (to search, press CTRL + F on your keyboard)
- Now, once you've identified the row where the link can be found, go to column AD to see the state of the request. This is most likely Archived. Column B will give you the request ID so you can find the request in the DCS and if needed reinstate it.
Deleted requests will not be in the HEI report.
