ReciteMe Assistive toolbar
The DCS now comes with a brand-new assistive toolbar from ReciteMe. The ReciteMe Assistive Toolbar is designed to make websites and resources digitally inclusive by allowing visitors to customise content so that they can consume it in ways that work best for them.
Features include:
- Text to speech
- Translation (over 100 written languages and 65+ text to speech options)
- Text/background customisation and styling
- Reading Aids
The toolbar is optional, and to switch it on, all you need to do is click on ‘Get Help’ in the top right-hand corner, and choose ‘accessibility tools’:
The ReciteMe toolbar will then appear at the top of the DCS:
You can then choose from the various options on the toolbar. The toolbar will be present across all pages of the DCS. If you wish to close the toolbar, simply click the ‘x’ button in the top right-hand corner.
Alt-text and Reflow tagging of source content
Content stored within the DCS currently has markers for OCR and colour scale, and we have added markers for Alt-text and reflow tagging for improved accessibility. For more information, please see this article.
