Note: The DCS Advanced Reader will not be integrated with the DCS 2.0 until a later date. The Kortext Anonymous reader, however, will be fully accessible to those HEIs that make use of it.
Students that use the Kortext Advanced Reader can still load DCS content to their accounts, but they will have to do so manually after March 12th 2026. Please share this document with students if they would like to know more.
Making sure cookies are not blocked
If you cannot access the scan and just have the Kortext waiting message or a blank screen, please ensure that you have cleared your browsing history, cookies and cached images and files.
It is also a good idea to make sure that cookies are not being blocked in your settings:
You can tell if cookies are blocked when using Chrome by looking out for the crossed-out eye icon in the address bar.
If enabling third party cookies does not resolve the issue, please contact us at support.dcs@cla.co.uk or, if a student or lecturer, contact your library or Digitisation Team.
Anonymous Reader
Once authenticated, you will be taken to the anonymous reader. This reader allows you to read, print, download to PDF, search the documents and search the web.
This reader will use your single sign-in credentials and will take you to directly into the extract with your Shibboleth, Athens or EZproxy authentication, or IP for those with the institution’s IP range.
However, this anonymous reader will not know who you are as an individual user. Therefore, to use any of the advanced features, including; highlighting, bookmarking, note-taking, export referencing, and for the reader to remember your page for next time, you will need to create a free Kortext account to log in.
