The following relates to users who are members of the UK Federation. For non-members, please see our article about direct SAML integration here.
To set up integration between the DCS and Shibboleth/OpenAthens, we need your Entity ID. Below are some examples to show you what they are and what they look like.
Shibboleth
Typically the Shibboleth Entity ID is based on your HEI’s domain name. So, based on others we have seen this may look like:
https://shib.HEINAME.ac.uk/shibboleth
OpenAthens
The DCS integrates with OpenAthens through the Shibboleth Gateway (WAYFless URLs mean that selecting from the Gateway is not required by students) therefore we will need the OpenAthens via Shibboleth Gateway Entity ID.
It should look something like this:
https://openathens.HEINAME.ac.uk/oala/metadata
