After submitting an EHESS order, the British Library will supply your scan via CLA, and CLA will upload it to the DCS. Fulfilled orders (those with an uploaded document) will appear under “Awaiting HEI Review” on the Dashboard.
Click on the request, this will take you to the Requests in Progress page. Click on the EHESS order awaiting review, this will take you to the Content Request Page.
Then scroll down to the source content section where you will find your EHESS order in a ‘Pending’ state. Click on the three dots and click View Order.
Here you can click ‘Accept’ to confirm the order and make the scan available to select and send to students, or Report a Problem. You can also view your order, which is where you will find your BL order number (this is your reference for any direct contact with the BL regarding your order).
IMPORTANT: After accepting your order, you might want to amend and re-upload the file to the content request. If you intend to do this, please ensure you accept the EHESS order first as re-uploading the file without accepting the order will prevent you from being able to close the order or generate a content link.
Report a problem
If you are not happy with the scan, you can report a problem to the BL via the DCS.
Once you click on the 'Report a problem' button, this box will appear on your screen:
Here you can fill in your contact information and explain the issue to the BL. You should also select what type of problem it is your reporting. Please be aware that you must fill out the notes field to send your report successfully – the mandatory fields are marked by the red asterisk on the pop-up window.
There are four issue types that can be reported through the DCS: 'Wrong extract sent', 'Extract has missing pages', 'Extract is poor quality' & 'I cannot download/print this item'.
After choosing the appropriate issue type, you should fill in your contact information and a description of the issue for the BL. Then click 'Send'.
This will send a message to the CLA support team, who will forward the message to the BL. They will then assess the issue and respond accordingly, in most cases either attempting to re-supply the document or informing you that they are unable to fulfil the order.
You must click one of these, even if you just plan to download the file, amend and then 'Add Document' to add the amended file (after perhaps reducing file-size or making the file accessible etc). If you want to amend and re-upload the file into request, after you have added it, ensure that you 'Accept' the file.
You can now generate the link and access your EHESS order.
