Picklists
In DCS 1.0, users could add subject and department information. In DCS 2, users can add information on subject, department, school, and faculty. These tags can be added to your courses for an extra level of personalisation.
Note: Any subject and/or department data stored in DCS 1 will map directly to DCS 2.0, so please confirm this information is correct in DCS 1.0 before the migration starts on the 6th. Don’t worry if you don’t have time to do this ahead of the migration; you can edit all data in the new system once it’s live.
Adding picklists to your DCS account
To add a school, department, subject and/or faculty to the DCS, follow these steps:
- Go to My Institution
- Go to the Settings tab
- Scroll to HEI field configuration
You can tab between each section: School, Faculty, Department and Subject and click the Add (School, Faculty, Dept, Subject) button:
There is no limit to the number of Schools, Faculties, Departments and Subjects you can add.
Note: You cannot add picklists directly on the Course > Edit page. Picklists need to be added in the My Institution > Settings tab, and then this list will be available to choose from when you go to add or edit a course.
Picklists are entirely optional. There is no obligation to add this data.
