Pending Sources

When you add a document to the DCS, you will notice that it is listed as a Pending Source in the Source Content section of the Content Request page:

A pending source is a source that needs processing in the DCS back end. All this means is that it will sit here for a moment or 2 whilst the back end ensures that the metadata and uploaded PDF are checked. You do not need to do anything. You can still select the document and generate the link while the content is in a pending state.

Once the document has been checked and approved in the background, the content will automatically move to the HEI supplied sources section, and the content will become available to other HEIs to use, providing it is not a “private” scan (i.e., you have arranged direct permissions with the publisher).

If there are any issues with the scan and it is not approved (this is unlikely), you can get in touch with CLA to investigate what the issue is.
