Content Requests auto-deleted after 7 days if no course is assigned
Any Content Requests which have no course assigned after 7 days will be automatically deleted from the system. This is to prevent space being taken up by too many incomplete requests. Please note that this does not apply to Academic Requests with no course assigned.
Amending metadata
If you wish to amend metadata for a record, you will need to have all mandatory data fields completed before you can save the record. For example, you can't just add an author, you will need to ensure all of the below mandatory fields are complete, as well:
- Title
- Author
- Publisher
- Total Pages in Book
HEI report and Downloads Per Content Item report
The HEI and Downloads Per Content Item reports have now been merged. A lot of the data in these reports was duplicated so they now come as one "super report". This report is still called the HEI report and it can be run in the same way as always:
- Go to Reporting in the left-hand menu
- Choose HEI report from the reporting drop down menu
You will notice the following new fields have been added to the HEI report:
- Faculty and School
- Source type - this will show whether or not HEI supplied content originates from a print or digital source
- Tagging - this tells you if there is reflow tagging applied to the content item
- AltText - this tells you if there is alt-text applied to the content item
- OCR notes - users can now add notes on OCR status when they upload their own document
- Reflow tagging notes - users can now add notes on reflow status when they upload their own document
- Alt-text notes - users can now add notes on alt-text status when they upload their own document
No Kortext Advanced Reader
The DCS 2.0 will not be integrated with the Kortext Advanced reader. We are working with Kortext to get this reintegrated as soon as possible.
For now, any institutions that use the Kortext reader will see content open in the anonymous version. This reader operates in much the same way as the Advanced Reader, but students won’t have access to features like:
- Notetaking
- Highlighting
- Share Options
Students will be prompted to sign in to Kortext manually, download their content from the anonymous reader and upload it to their account in Kortext.
