The below bug fixes were deployed on the 18th May.
1. Watermark removed from Publisher Supplied content in preview mode
We have removed the watermark from Publisher Supplied content to allow HEIs to download and re-upload content to suit their needs in the same way as you do with HEI supplied content.
2. Chapter information
We have made the necessary changes so that any chapter information added to requests created via an RLMS (Talis, Leganto or Keylinks) or the Academic Request Form will pull through to the Extract Details in the Content Request.
3. Usage data in HEI report
As has been explained in previous webinars, the original requirement was to merge the HEI report and the Downloads per Content Item report as so much of the information across these reports was duplicated. Users should expect to see the following updated usage data in their HEI reports now:
- Number of views - the number of times a link has been accessed via the Kortext Reader or the PDF viewer by a student, lecturer or DCS user
- Number of downloads to PDF - the number of times a user has clicked the "download" button in the Kortext reader
- Number of prints - the number of times a user has clicked the "print" icon in either the Kortext Reader
Please note that users will not see the following data as this came from the Kortext Advanced Reader which is not integrated yet:
- Number of unique views
- Number of unique users
- Number of downloads to Kortext
Users will see that there are 2 kinds of date filters on the HEI report in the DCS:
- Academic Year - this will always default to the current academic year and will show you all requests for that year
- Usage From - To - this will always default to the full academic year (1st August to 31st July). You have the option to change this range to anything you want: a day, a week, a month, or the full year. It is critical to note that these date ranges only apply to the student usage data, not content requests.
So, if you were to run a report with the following date parameters:
Academic Year: 2025-2026
Usage date from: 01/01/2026
Usage date to: 07/01/2026
The HEI report will generate the following data:
All Content Requests for the academic year 2025-2026 and only the number of views, number of downloads and number of prints from the 1st - 7th January 2026.
All historic data from DCS 1 should be included within these reports, too. So if you were to run a report from a previous academic year, you will see students usage data from these years, too.
4. Removal of BL coversheet from EHESS orders
The DCS 1 used to automatically strip the BL coversheet from orders. This has now been implemented in the new DCS. This will not affect your orders in any way, there will just be no standard BL EHESS coversheet.
